Waterjet Cutting 2″ Thick Aluminium

Last month we got an order from a long-standing customer to cut some 2 inch (50.8mm) thick off-shore gangway hooks. When cutting sheets of this thickness, the handling of the material is always as challenging as achieving the outstanding cut quality that we pride ourselves on, but we think we did a decent job!

Take a look below at photos showing the parts still in the 2 inch thick sheet, with another two photos of cut quality. Which is perfect as can be in such monstrously thick aluminium!
